Clutch Dragging

Hello,

I write from Spain. I have a problem of clutch dragging in my 04 LC8 since it had 15000 km. Now it has 34000 km. I have reported this problem to my KTM Dealer. They changed the clutch disk (I paid for it) and the push rod, hidrulic oil but the problem hasn´t been solved yet. KTM Spain doesn´t give me a solution.

I use Motorex 10W50 and hidraulic mineral oil as hidraulic oil for the clutch.

Do you what it is the problem? What can I try to solve it?

Spain is different!! The Spanish KTM Importer doesn´t give a good service. So they don´t pay nothing about disk, clutch cylinder, and other things. For example last year I have to pay for a radiator cap, a new slave cylinder piston, a rear brake repair kit and clutch disk. The bike is great but the Customer Service is the worst I have seen.

Whe I say that the clutch drags, it means that the clutch doesn´t disengaged completely. So when you shift a gear the gear box makes a big "crank". And when you shift a lower gear the engine brakes before you pull the clutch lever. When the engine is hot the problem is worse. My mechanic says that the clutch don´t open all the way. So he put a shim at the end of the push rod and the problem was solve when the engine was cold. But when it is hot the problem appears again.

I can´t read German. It will be very nice from you if you answer me in English

i had more or less the same problems at about 20.000km.

At the end the problem was solved with new clutch springs. Now the clutch workes again perfect.

try to change the motoroil.use shell advance ultra 15w-50.in the german newspaper "enduro" they had problems with the clutch using motorex.after changing the oil the clutch works good

buenos dias claferal,

i think you should report your problems direct to ktm austria.
if the/your spanish dealer do not show the correct reaction on your problems. you (we) do have a europe wide garranty - and your dealer have to react in a warranty form. so write your problems up to now and the bills to ktm austria direct.
